In today's episode of BookD we've managed to grab adventurer and motivational speaker Alastair Humphreys and lock him away in a studio to talk about his new book 'Microadventures'. Alastair kick started his obsession for adventure with a trip involving a bike, a tent and very little cash. Cycling around the world is a pretty impressive first adventure to have which took 4 years to complete and ever since has become an infectious passion and obsession. Whether it is sleeping on a hilltop or going for a wild swim, cycling a lap of the Isle of Wight or walking home for Christmas, Humphreys inspires us all to leave our comfort zones and discover something new about ourselves and the world outside our windows. Because you do not need to fly to the other side of the planet to be adventurous. Adventure is everywhere, every day and it is up to us to seek it out. Alastair is joined by his editor Julia Koppitz where they discuss the simple concept of the adventure which in his words has a certain sort of "vagabond, anarchist, dirt bag" vibe about it, encouraging people to do things they wouldn't normally do.
